Anatomy scan at 21w+5d

Hi Alexander,

Look your first dick pic!!

I got it during my 20 week + 5 day level 2 ultrasound today. I couldn't help thinking that when I was looking at the pictures.

You, sir, were giving the ultrasound tech all sorts of trouble. Mostly you were comfortable with your hand on your chest when she needed to take a picture of your heart. Your dad ask the tech could we do anything to make you move more and would it be beneficial for you to be more active than you are right now. The tech laughed. She said you're moving plenty and just I wait until there's more umph in those kicks. I learned I have an anterior placenta so that's why I haven't been feeling you as much. It gives me more of a sign that you were telling me we would be ok when I was upset earlier this week.

The doctor said you are developing normally. There's no signs of issues or complications. He is recommending additional screenings due to my age but he has no concerns. As you can imagine, I'm beyond thrilled with the news. I'm been worried that I've waited too long but you were the right baby for me. Your dad ask the doctor with all sorts of questions. I don't know when he was reassured or concerned about the answers. The doctor didn't seem concerned about my preexisting diabetes either. The levels were so low it wasn't an issue with him.

I think you already have your Dad's nose and my lips. I don't have a button nose like this. I will really laugh if you look like your dad and not me. I'm Vietnamese dang it. I'm supposed to have the more dominant genes. All I'm hoping for is you have the Asian stomach of steel because your dad's stomach is no good.

I love you Alexander. I can't wait to hold you in my arms.

Chunky monkey?

Hi Alexander, I got to see you at our 31 week ultrasound today. I had been concerned you weren't growing since I've gained zero pounds. Apparently, you're just getting all of the weight I'm losing. You're weighing in at 4.5 pounds and between 15 to 16 inches. The technician says that puts you ahead one week and it's all in your belly. I'll take a little chunky monkey baby as long as you're healthy and everything looked good. I love seeing your little face. At one point, you were were yawning and sticking out your tongue. So darn cute. I went to the ultrasound by myself but was able to FaceTime your daddy. He was just as excited to see you. Keep on growing in there, nugget. Momma and daddy love you to the moon and back.

Six weeks old and BIG news

Hi Alexander, I can't believe you're already six weeks old. Ok, technically you're six weeks and three days old. Caring for you hasn't given me a whole lot of time to write. It seems like just yesterday we brought you home. You have grown so much! You were born at 7 pounds and 10 oz. At six weeks, you weigh 11 pounds by my weighing method. I weighed myself then added you and subtracted the difference. You're also so long! I can't measure that myself but I know you filled out your swaddle now and are able the pillows behind me when I nurse you. In the early days, you fit in the crook of my arm and now, you dangle off the end. You smile intentionally and still have no problem letting your dad and I know when you want our attention.  We had some adjusting to do this week. My six weeks of paid time off ended Wednesday and I had to decide whether to go back to work or take another six weeks off without pay. Initially, the plan was for me to take a full 12 weeks off. ...

First "kick"

Hi my baby boy.. I felt your first kick today and a second minutes later. I had been worried why I haven't felt you. There have been some movement but I didn't know if it was you or just my body growing to accommodate you. Today, it was definitely you. It was like you were reassuring me you were ok.. that we're going to be ok.
